A lot of things have happened since the last time I posted, it feels like another life honestly.
I'm leaving on a school exchange to HK in 9 days. I'm really excited, but i'm also very nervous at the same time. It's difficult to pinpoint the exact emotion to tell people when they ask me. I've been traveling a lot over the past 3 years thanks to AIESEC. But this is an entirely new type of traveling where i'm genuinely on my own... and the first time i'm living by myself. I have family in HK but it's different b/c they're not going to be there all the time to take care of me. I've been preparing for this like a madwoman trying to make sure i have every single detail taken care of. But knowing how things work, it's not going to make a difference b/c i'm bound to miss something and for the first time, i'll really really need to adapt to change quickly. The accountant in me is extremely cross about this fact :P
I'm so excited to meet all the new exchange students from around the world and just live a life that's completely different from Calgary and Canada in general. There'll be new things I'm going to love, and things i'll miss about Calgary. For sure it's going to be my wonderful friends from here... but i know they'll still be here when I return which is why I'm hesitant to say "good-bye". I'll see my parents in 3 months... and i don't think the homesickness sets in until at least a month into the exchange... right? that's what i've assured my father :)
Anyways, hope there will be many more travel posts to come. I'm hoping to look back at these posts to see how i've changed throughout the exchange experience. For both myself and those who have the patience to read... enjoy :)
